A couple weeks ago I blogged about carving my first pumpkin. Saturday was Halloween, and was our first family trick or treating! We had a lot of fun. A navy buddy of my husband that’s in town for a while actually came with us as well. We didn’t dress up this year because we really didn’t have the money to spend on a costume. Next year, I definitely plan on getting us coordinated.
Our son’s candy turn out was really good. Much better than I expected. He received so much candy considering that he’s just a baby. You would think that people would give less because they know the parents would eat it instead, but we filled our son’s bucket by just stopping at less than 10 houses. One lady even gave my son $20 just because it was his first Halloween! It was so nice of her. It was a little shady. When she did it, she just took out a stack of cash and gave us $20 and candy (I do live in a little bit of a shady area, but everyone seems to be nice as long as you pretty much keep to yourself and not cause trouble). Is it weird that almost everyone thought our son was a doll…? They though I was trick or treating holding a doll. When we came up to grab the candy they would say, “Oh, this is real baby.” I don’t know what that’s about, but they pretty much thought he was the cutest! 🙂 I hope everyone had a safe fun Halloween weekend!
Tomorrow I hope to go out and shop for discounted Halloween costumes and or other odds and ends for next year. Key advice about holiday’s; plan ahead and start shopping the day after any special calendar occasion. They will be on a great discount!
